Treaty Port Vineyards and Scottish Castle – A slice of Europe on your doorstep!
Treaty Port Vineyards is the first all-organic fine wine producer in China's Shandong peninsula. Using a combination of French and Australian wine-growing expertise, the 21 hectare vineyard grows 13 grape varieties without artificial pesticides. The wine produced is of an exceptionally high quality - we restrict yields, only pick when grapes are fully ripened and use only the best of our crop to make our wines. We also import a specially selected range of wines from around the world, and are Shandong's only importer and stockist of Macleod's Single Malt Whiskey.
The Scottish Castle at Treaty Port Vineyards is a boutique guest house that features an exclusive restaurant. The Scottish Castle prides itself on its dedicated chefs all trained at Stiller’s cooking school, Shanghai. A wide range of European food, cooked on Shandong’s only AGA cooker, is available for lunches and suppers, and guests may select from our excellent value set menus (priced from 88 RMB for a simple set to 368RMB for a 5 course meal), or order a-la carte, accompanied of course by wine from our vineyards.
In addition, the Scottish Castle also offers guests a chance to try Lu cai – or Shandong style Chinese cuisine, which has long been regarded as one of the four jewels in the crown in Chinese cookery. Lu cai emphasizes seafood and fresh, salty flavours. Whether guests choose European or Shandong style food, they are sure to dine in the most spectacular surroundings the Shandong peninsula has to offer. Guests can eat like kings in the castle’s grand Banqueting Hall, or opt for the cozy castle library where they are accompanied by rare British antiques and portraits of the ancestor of the castle owner.
The Scottish Castle is also available for corporate events. Our Banqueting Hall can seat 60 for meetings and dinners.
Diners are entitled to use the castle facilities, and receive a tour of the castle and the winery.
The Scottish Castle is located in the beautiful Shandong countryside on mystic Qiushan – a mountain that still attracts Daoist pilgrims to the birthplace of Qiu Chuji, the founder of Dragon Gate Daosim, near Penglai. We can arrange for return transport in our real London taxi from your address in Yantai to the Castle.

Every year on the 19th January of Chinese Calendar, it is Master Qiu's birthday, some time around the early of Qiu dynasty.On this day, the villagers nearby Qiu Moutain will gather together before Master Qiu's temple to burn incense and pray, and ask for Master Qiu's blessings. Christmas is coming and the Scottish Castle invites you to celebrate a unique Christmas Eve with us in Shandong’s snow-covered Qiushan Valley. Enjoy a special Christmas Eve at the Scottish Castle on December 25 with Christmas hymns and traditional Scottish dances. Savour traditional Christmas dishes by the open fire while drinking our Treaty Port red wine and fine Scottish whiskies. Santa Claus will also make an appearance with Christmas gifts for guests.
